Porcelain veneers are implanted by a cosmetic surgeon. The procedure is very simple and straightforward and takes only a few hours to complete. In the first step, the teeth are prepared so that the veneers can be bonded in place. If thin layer of enamel is removed from the teeth over which the veneers are to be bonded. After this step, temporary veneers are placed over the teeth for some time. In the meantime, the dentist will order porcelain veneers from a laboratory. These will be manufactured by taking into account the shape and size of the nearby teeth. Latter, temporary veneers are removed and permanent veneers are bonded in their place.
Dental veneers can be slightly costly. For instance, they can range from $1000-$2000 per tooth. However, the costs will vary depending on the quality of the material, the fee charged by the dental surgeon and other overhead costs. Despite their cost, dental veneers very good option.
