Acer Aspire One AOD255-2691 10.1-Inch Netbook (Diamond Black)
I've had this tiny netbook for a few week currently, and it's specifically right for our purposes: email, browsing, YouTube, MiniClip games, and word processing. It comes with workplace 2010 starter (just word and excel) that is all we'd like. i am not a techie and don't have any specifics to share, however this factor simply WORKS. Right out of the box, you pay ten minutes fitting, charge it up, and go. the primary time you employ workplace you would like to put in it. I followed the advice of another reviewers and (1) uninstalled some bloatware it came with (Acer games, NY Times Reader) and (2) put in Chrome and created it the default browser. IE was taking forever to load something, however Chrome is way lighter and works perfectly. and also the wireless is impressive-- it works even approach down the long slim hallway in my thick-brick-walls 1850's house from where the router is placed-- our previous Vaio could not handle it. The red could be a nice heat cranberry/barn red shade-- alittle pizzaz however it does not appear as if a toy. it is very light-weight. it's no disk drive, however I see here on Amazon that cheap external ones are straightforward to seek out.
Two tiny gripes: (1) battery life is pretty short. 3 hours at the foremost. It will charge up quickly though. (2) The keys are that kind of 'mushroom' format, they give the impression of being simply created for crumbs to sneak beneath and find stuck, and with youngsters within the house I feel the necessity to be protecting. however clearly i would like to try and do that anyway. And for fewer than $300 we cannot be devastated although the worst happens. Overall I couldn't be additional happy with this purchase!
I recommend the HP Mini case to travel with this, black with silver swirls. It's simply the correct size, well created and extremely cushiony and protecting.
