Needle Gun
Does getting your cartilage pierced with a needle hurt any more than getting it done with a gun?
I was just ganna go to Claire's and get it done. But I think they only use a gun don't they? Is there even much of a difference from getting my cartilage pierced with a gun or needle? I don't like needles >_<
If Claire's doesn't use needles, wheres the next best place to go?
I just moved and theres not many places to go to around here..
To tell you the truth. Even though the needle seems big and scary it is actually hurts way less and is way more sanitary than a gun.
If you get it done with a gun, think of it as trying to push a blunt object into your skin. Doesn't sound like much fun does it. This is really what the gun does. It just pushes the skin aside by forcing a blunt object into your ear.
When you get it done with a needle it is super shard so it goes much smoother and you get a clean hole.
Piercing guns can not be sterilized. This means they can not be put in an autoclave. They might wipe the gun down with a alcohol wipe but this does not sterilize it. So any sort of blood or tissue could still be on the gun. Then it is going to pierce you. Think about it, everyone that has used that gun before you and now you are going to get your ears done with it. Needles are one time use only. This means no one else has used it before.
Professionals also use the correct jewelry. Places that use a gun give you crap jewelry. The back of the jewelry sits way to close to the ear and allows no room for swelling.

Professionals give you correct aftercare instructions, not a bottle of solution.
Getting it done with a gun makes your healing time longer.
To find a place just look in the phone book or type in piercing parlors in wherever you live. Even if you have to drive a little bit it is well worth getting your piercing done correctly.
