All about Skull Crusher
Skull crusher is also known as weight lifting exercise which involves the work of the triceps muscles on the upper arm and also on the back. This activity engages you to have the weight lowered to your head.
The main function you will get from this skull crasher exercise is to develop the triceps brachii. It is a three headed muscle group which is mostly used while you are strengthening your arms at your elbow. Sit is ideal to be used for building as well as for defining the triceps. It is also ideal to be used for improving the look of your arms to be strong and big.
There are some steps you can do to perform skull crusher. The first thing is to pick up the weights at an overhead grip. You can lie flat on the weight lifting bench with your face up. Raise both of your arms straight above your chest. Make your arms be perpendicular to your body. It is the starting position.
The next thing you can do is to bend your elbows and lower the weight carefully toward your head. You have to keep the upper arm perpendicular to the body. You can only move your forearms when you bend your elbows. If you have already bent your arms at 90 degree angle, you have to raise the weight to your starting position.
There are a lot of options of performing skull crush. You can perform this activity by using some different equipment such as barbell, EZ curl bar, or even dumbbells. The safest way is by using dumbbells for they can allow you to easily drop them if you feel that they are too heavy. If you use barbells, you will force your wrist to stay in stationary position. Meanwhile, if you use EZ curl bar, you will have your wrist turn at a comfortable angle.
